Redwood High School
Dear Bark Alums,
It was terrific to see such a great turnout, over 120 for the reunion. Thank you all for coming. I enjoyed talking to you and sorry I missed some, always a problem with that many showing up.
Business: Thanks for you generous contributions to the kitty. We took in $140 after the expenses for food and rather than give it to Bark who really does not need any additional funding as you probably saw, we are using it for the expense of setting up the Bark alumni site, $70, and for maintaining it for the next year, another $70, so that worked out surrendipitously.
Thank you to my Bark adviser colleagues for showing, and especially to Sylvia and Tom for the food they donated to the cause. Worked great. Dan Kurtzman did terrific work to set up the site and to keep the e-mails going. Thanks, Dan.
With an enterprise as ambitious as the reunion, there are inevitable glitches. I apologize to Jerry Carbone and others from the first decade of Bark existence for not working harder on contacting Bark staffers from their era. Jerry canceled because he saw none of his classmates on the list of those attending.
I have a plan for the next occasion. As you know we have few early Barks. We can contact the chairs for the alumni events and have them check their yearbooks for names of those on the staff and see if they have current addresses. Anyone volunteer for that?
On the other end, there were too few showing up from the early '90s on. Don't know what to do about that. Anyone want to take on that problem?
Anyway for an inaugural event, I was pleased to see who were able to come and look forward to the next one.
Cordially,
Donal Brown
